Sparwood Search and Rescue is an entirely volunteer, non-profit organization. As you can imagine, operating a rescue service is a task with many expenses: equipment and training costs, vehicle insurance and upkeep, building maintenance and even utility costs put a continual strain on our budget. Our organization receives a small annual operating grant from the Regional District and Municipality, and we receive reimbursement from the Provincial Government for most expenses incurred during a SAR operation but the bulk of the funding that keeps us operating comes from grant programs and donations from businesses and individuals.
If you would like to assist us in funding our Search and Rescue program, you can click the "Contact" link at the top of the page to get in touch with us, or you can donate online using the "Donations" link on the right-hand side of the page. We sincerely appreciate any support you can give, and will certainly put it to good use!
Sparwood Search and Rescue is a charitable organization registered with the Canada Revenue Agency, and can provide tax receipts for donations.
